I know good would tell me if an error happened but the stream no longer works once that happens. How can i check to see if i am at the end of line before reading another int? You should clear the error state of the stream with in. The stream extraction returns if the operation succeeded, so you can test this directly without explicitly checking in.

I have been unable to resolve, and short of restarting the system nothing seems to help. The emails that have problems aren't large 20kb for example and will hang when clicked on for about 45 seconds or so, then display the message as a blank message.
