Galo nero west 44th street

Finally, we only had panini for dinner, but again, they were absolutely delicious. My fiancee had the grilled vegetable panini and I had the skirt steak. We definitely will go back to Gallo Nero and hope that mid-town has more restaurants like this popping up.

This is a great place to go if you're on a budget and want a cozy place, great food, and great wine! My high hopes for this spot were dashed after waiting fifteen minutes and never seeing a waiter. There was what appeared to be only one waiter, but there were several managers, hosts, etc.

We were finally approached by a manager as we got up to leave. He promised to take care of us and urged us to stay. We then waited some more for the waiter to come over, but she never did. In fact, the only time we ever saw the waiter was when, after our meal, she came over to take the tip off of our table.

I give this place three months. The wine was great. The appetizers good. But, then came the entrees. However, I ordered the chicken pesto panini. I couldn't see any chicken on the sandwich. It was literally a pesto, pepper and hint of chicken sandwich. We joked that it was as if the chef took a tiny piece of left over chicken and rubbed it on the bread in order to call it a chicken sandwich! I was shocked when she returned saying that the chef refused indicating that I got what I paid for with the chicken.

I refused saying that I would like to speak with the chef or the manager. A barely 18 year old looking boy came to the table and rudely asked, ""What is the problem? It's always easy to get a table and you truly feel taken care of by the staff. I love recommending Gallo Nero mainly because it's so affordable for anyone's budget.

It's tough to afford service like this at any other establishment. You will not be disappointed. If you haven't been there Two friends and I, who are all Hell's Kitchen residents and regulars in the local spots had never been to Gallo Nero. We had all heard mixed reviews and agreed to try it - so glad we did. The russian waitress Anna was amazing and very helpful in steering us to the right menu and wine choices.

The food was reasonably priced and the service was delighted. We made a dinner reservation for a party of 12 coming in town for a special celebration in two weeks! I arrived at for my reservation. Although there were empty tables for 2, I was told they were reserved and asked to sit at a communal table.

When I said I preferred not to, I was told that I could wait and see if a 2 opened up. I said that I had no time because I had theater tickets. I said never mind and left. I went across the street to Etc Etc and had a great meal. Stay away from here! On the menu it says that they have a roasted beet salad but the beets were from a can. We asked the manager about this and he said that it is not possible to roast beets.

Then when my friend made a trip to the restroom she overheard the manager yelling at the chef about the beets and how to make tiramisu, as the chef said he couldn't make it. Also, the the place has a bad, stuffy smell like it has not been cleaned very well. This restaurant is an absolute ripoff, complete with snobby hostess, rude manager, loud music and dank lighting.

Good food but the wine list was even better. Tell us about your planned event. Preferred Space Gallo Nero. Comments or Event Plans: Click once only. All Cuisines: Italian. Style: Casual Elegant. Delivery was about 15 mins late. The Caesar salad was decent but seemed like it had those cheap store bought croutons.

Overall, just meh. Gnocchi was very over cooked. No one wants mushy pasta. The people over the phone from this restaurant were extremely rude. Asked for it on all three items ignored on every one. Good food. Very good. Meatballs overpriced and not great. But the entrees were very good. Great tomato sauce. Notwithstanding that I received a confirmation email from the restaurant, when they failed to deliver the food, and I called, they had no idea I had put in an order.

When I asked whether the food was even started yet, they were evasive and rude. They mentioned something about the restaurant name changing, I think the place must be under new management.
